Home Affordable Modification Program Explained

The US Government’s HAMP or Home Affordable Modification Program is a new program that is design to bailout struggling home owners, and helps them mortgage refinance their debts. So, I have gathered some information, details and figures to try and give you loaners a view on this program and especially – how can you navigate your mortgage refinance by it.

This program is targeting the lenders, promising them incentives if they give unfavorable loaners, even f they have very low credit score, the right to refinance their mortgage to a very low new rate and with no cost refinancing.. The US government has decided that it better use funds – and has put 75$ billion for this! – to this new Making Home Affordable program, than to see a home owner struggles with growing debt that may cause them to lose their properties.

Hmmm… skeptical Let’s see how it will
The lenders, banks and other financial institutes that are allowed to give mortgages are actually promised cash incentives from the government.
Ok – so we got the bad guys on our side, but how

Well, the government in this loan modification program agrees to pay a subsidy for every bad credit loaner that will be allowed to refinance his debt to preferable terms that will help him pay less each month, this will be carried out even if the loaner has very high bad credit score – and will pose a real risk to the lender. The refinance will be carried out with a no cost mortgage refinancing, which means that all the costs of the new mortgage is being sponsored by these government funds.

So, what are the techs
The loan modification program will be limited to first home mortgages with outstanding principal balances until $729,750. It will help loaners that own single-family homes only, this to ensure that the program does not aid investors who bought property for investments purposes or land-lords or renters.

For every single eligible loaner, the lenders will get from the government a subsidy of 3,500$, in return they will make it a no cost refinance.. Moreover, the government will match a portion of the lenders’ costs, so basically they are creating the perfect ground for the lenders to agree upon refinancing the debt of what would have been otherwise, very bad potential loaners.

The loaners themselves will have to sign affidavits attesting to their financial hardships, so credit score checkup will not be enough in this case – the government wants the pledge of the loaners to their conditions.

Very important note Loaners must be aware and beware of scams. The Home Affordable Modification Program consoling is free of charge. So, beware of anyone who asks you to pay a fee in exchange for a counseling service or consoling. Assistance from a HUD-approved housing counselor is FREE.
